If learning about all the new stuff still hasn't made you excited about Xbox Madden 10, then maybe a visit to video gaming's not-so-distant past can put things into perspective. Sure, there's something not right about saying a current game is great merely because it blows away its ancestors. Then again, those side-by-side comparisons help underscore the fact that Xbox Madden 10 is a truly top-notch football video game. It was inevitable, given the popularity of handheld football games in the B.C. (before consoles) era, that gamers would want a video football game to satisfy their needs. The bad news, though, was that video game technology was still in the "post-Pong" phase, and the games reflected those limitations. Even then, the game companies were excellent at the hype, and kept boasting that this one boasted "all the excitement" of real football. The players themselves have closer resemblance to space aliens than members of a football team. What are you gonna do? The brief glance at the pic gives you a taste, but believe me, what went on during an actual game was much more horrific. From a technological standpoint, things were so basic, that multiple players moving at once meant that the only thing extreme about this game was the flickering of the players. Audio was as awful as the video. As you'd probably guessed, there wasn't a scrolling screen for this one. In a short matter of time, the competitors entered the video game console field, and brought out their take on a more realistic football video game. They definitely took the ball and ran with this one, giving gamers better gameplay, visuals, and sound. However, it was still a bit primitive.
No doubt, it was a real exciting time for hardcore gamers, but there was still a ways to go before football video games would dominate the industry. Gamers would have to wait a while on the bench before that came true. But this one, which was released in the late 80s, as part of the next generation of game consoles, really hit it big, to the point where people still love it. Over the years, this was the yardstick by which all football video games were measured.
Can't argue with the fact that the hardcore gamers did take to this one - for the first time, the NFL got the red-carpet treatment from a football video game. It was an amazing evolution in football video games, and this one was really a major turning point. With the online revival, today's gamers are getting a taste of yesteryear - and loving it. That being said, as much as everyone digs that one, Xbox Madden 10 is in an entirely different league.
Hard to believe how much these games have improved since they first came on the scene. Guess it's a waste of time to do too much putting down of the other, less sophisticated football video games. No need to keep harping on it. Those games had their weaknesses, but if it weren't for them, we wouldn't be playing Xbox Madden 10 today, so they did get the ball rolling. Hardcore gamers have every reason to be fired up - Xbox Madden 10 really is the winning touchdown. The fans aren't the only ones raving about Xbox Madden 10 - the critics have said their piece, and they're into it. "Realistic and enjoyable" are comments you'll see during most Xbox Madden 10 reviews. EA Sports has really concocted a Super Bowl sized hit with Xbox Madden 10, as expected. Don't let the naysayers shape your opinion - Xbox Madden 10 is a game for the ages. As great as Xbox sports video games offerings are, Xbox Madden 10 is at the top of the pack. It's the favorite of hardcore gamers, and with good cause. If you're really ready to show your stuff, you can separate yourself from the pack and face off for big bucks.
The stakes have been raised, and Xbox Madden 10 maniacs now can take each other on for some serious cash. After you've really given yourself a crash course and learned all the rules, you'll score touchdown after touchdown - and make off with your rival's bankroll as well.
